Year of Dragon 2012 Silver Gold Coin Showcase

TheHelpfuldad discussess the Year of the Dragon Gold and Silver Coins. Perth Mint of Australia’s Lunar series is among the most popular gold and silver bullion coin programs today. Each year represents a different animal in the Chinese Zodiac, with 2012 represented by the Dragon, the fifth animal in the Chinese Zodiac. The craftsmanship of the Lunar Coins Series, the popularity of the Chinese Zodiac, and the bullion prices at which these coins are generally offered have made the Perth Mint’s Lunar series highly desirable by investors and collectors. These superb brilliant uncirculated coins are perfect for people born in “dragon” years — 1940, 1952, 1964, 1976, 1988, 2000, and 2012. The reverse of each 2012 luncar dragon coin depicts a long, scaled, serpentine dragon, a symbol of power, strength and good luck. The reverse also includes a depiction of a “pearl of wisdom. The Chinese character for “dragon” and the inscription “Year of the Dragon” also appear in the design with the Perth Mint’s traditional “P” mintmark. The obverse of each 2012 lunar dragon coin displays Ian Rank-Broadley’s effigy of Her Royal Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. The Perth Mint Lunar gold and silver series are issued as legal tender under the Australian Currency Act of 1965.

        Gold confiscation facts and fiction

I hear often “buy numismatic coins, they are exempt if the gold confiscation act is reinstated.” The only coins defined by law as numismatic are post 1985 American Eagles. But the gold confiscation act does not even use the word “numismatic!” The exemption for collectible coins was nebulous. For example, British Sovereigns were exempt. Basically the law was like most laws, a cloud of uncertainty with loopholes and subject to change, while being arbitrarily enforced. Many people held their gold at their homes, nobody came door-to-door to collect it.

Silver Bullion: Investing in the Safety

www.straightsilver.com For More Information on The Value of Silver Bullion. StaightSilver.com has over 30 years experience in selling silver bullion online. With the turmoil that has been non-stop in the financial markets in recent years, many investors have opted to put their money into precious metals. Metals like gold and silver bullion are often purchased and stored as a hedge against inflation. Precious metals can be purchased in many different ways and all of them provide the investor with the chance to benefit from increasing prices. One of the major advantages of purchasing silver bullion or other similar precious metals is that it has been a medium of exchange for thousands of years. While fiat or paper money has failed time and time again, precious metals like gold and silver have stood the test of time. They have an intrinsic value that will always be there regardless of what happens in the economy. Because of this intrinsic value, many feel that precious metals would again become a medium of exchange if the current financial system failed. Even if banks, governments and economies fail, one could still trade with his neighbor. During the trading process, having some gold or silver bullion on hand could come in very handy. Instead of having to trade goods for other goods, the precious metals would again act as a type of currency. Another advantage of investing in precious metals is that they operate independently of what happens in other financial markets
